Hey Awesome Person!

Congrats! You’re officially a part of our Youth Staff Discipleship Training Program at Camas Meadows.

My name is Chiquita and I’m the Staff Director. I get the privilege of training and supporting you during your time on staff.

My goal is to make sure you have the opportunities to grow spiritually and tools to grow as a leader, all for the glory of God!

You have a few required steps left before summer:

  1. Have a parent submit your Staff Medical Release & Liability Waiver here.

  2. Pay the $50 required staff fee.

  3. Start to build support & prayer team by writing letters to your friends and family. Donate or fundraise what you can towards the cost of Discipleship Training ($450).

  4. Complete your personal goals. On the application you were asked to make both spiritual and service goals. Make them happen! We will ask you about them.

  5. Read the book of Mark. To prepare our hearts and mind you are expected to read and study the book of Mark.

You can find more information below to help you complete these tasks.

I’ll be reaching out to check in on your progress as we get closer to Summer!

I can’t wait to serve alongside you! If you have ANY questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Required Steps to Prep for Summer

1. Submit Health & Liability Waiver

If you are under 18, a parent must submit your health and liability waiver found here BEFORE coming to camp.

2. Pay Staff Fee

$50 required staff fee. Due June 15th

There is an annual staff fee that pays for a staff shirt and sweatshirt. You can pay it here now or bring cash or check to Discipleship Training.

3. Letter Writing

You will be asked to send a letter to at least 5 friends or family members to raise awareness about the mission, ask for financial support for the cost of Discipleship Training and to build a prayer team.

It’s important to share with others about the work that is being done at Camas Meadows and why you feel called to serve here.

Use this opportunity to ask for prayer and donations to the youth staff program to cover the cost of the discipleship program ($450) and your lost wages.

See the Staff Letter template here.

4. Complete Your Goals

As part of your application you were asked to set a spiritual and service related goal.

These goals are individual to you and are to be completed by Discipleship Training.

Whether your goal was to read the Bible more, serve at your local church, volunteer your time or complete a devotional — we take self discipline seriously.

Make sure you are working towards completing your goals that you set in your application. We will be asking you how you did.

5. Read the book of Mark.

To prepare our hearts and mind you are expected to read and study the book of Mark.

It provides a fast-paced, action-oriented account of Jesus’s life, highlighting his authority, humanity, and role as the suffering servant. It is considered the earliest Gospel, making it a foundational, concise, and direct source for understanding Jesus's ministry and the essential nature of discipleship.
