Role & Responsibilities

This select team of experienced staff will serve in a Program or Support capacity. You will serve as part of a team with your co-lead to accomplish program or support tasks to ensure summer camps can happen!

As part of the Program Lead Team you will be responsible for preparing and running camp activities with the goal of making the experience unique and intentional for the campers. Your day to day tasks might look like; attending a daily Leadership meeting, setting up for morning activities, running cabin inspections, leading “jail break”, being a meal host and serving campers, preparing for special events, preparing for and running games, helping clean up after activities, providing unique cabin activities and keeping the program on schedule.

As part of the Support Lead Team you will be responsible for the preparation of meals, setup of outdoor activities and general cleanup. Your day to day tasks might look like; attending a daily Leadership meeting, outdoor maintenance and improvement, meal support (cooking, dishes, clean up), preparing meals or snacks, nightly clean up and maintaining the kitchen and outdoor activities.

We are looking for individuals who are willing to invest their summer and make an impact on lives that need to experience the love of Jesus.

Please prayerfully consider this opportunity for a summer of service at Camas Meadows.

We look forward to receiving your application!

 Financial Support

We provide stipends per week(end) you serve. $300 per week. This is to provide youth an alternative to entry level jobs and an opportunity to still serve at camp, while gaining work experience.

We encourage you to raise additional financial support through support letters, etc. Camp is happy to assist in this effort, with providing letter templates or having a representative from Camas visit your church.

Time Commitment

You will be a part of the leadership team starting April 1st and ending September 1st the following year.

We will hold required virtual team meetings (one in April, one in May) to prepare for the summer. These are typically 2 hours in length and on a Sunday or Monday night.

We ask you make it a priority to attend as many Spring staff connection events.

You will be required to attend Discipleship Training from June 14th-20th, 2026.

During the Summer (June-August) you will be committing to spend several weeks of the summer at Camas Meadows Bible Camp. You are required to serve at 2 additional camps, beyond Discipleship Training.

We will hold a final end of Summer staff party that will be ran by the Leadership Team. This will conclude your service.

Staff Expectations

Our mission is to provide a Christ Centered camp where people can encounter Jesus Christ, through the word of God, the beauty of His creation and the community of His people.

Christ Centered

Our purpose is to know God and make Him known to the campers He brings us. It is essential, therefore, that our staff have a solid, growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and a desire to share His love and truth with others.

Relational

Following Jesus means loving one another. We want to build healthy relationships – with campers, with other staff, and with God. These relationships are the most important part of camp and will be what campers remember most.

Serve in Community

Running a summer camp requires a lot of people in many different positions to be in constant interaction. A unified ministry team is essential for a successful summer camp. You will experience what a community of diverse believers looks like and learn to function as one body.

Servant’s Heart

Servant leadership is the example left by Jesus for us to follow in his footsteps. The humility to serve and put the needs of others before your own is one of the most important qualifications of a counselor. We get to practice this daily!

Leader in Love

The camp serves and reaches out to young people ages 9 to 17. A love for and compatibility with children/youth is expected. We teach you practical ministry skills for building connections with others.

A Willingness to Be Uncomfortable

Much of the camp program involves outdoor recreation and activity. Participation in the outdoors is required and may involve getting wet, dirty, and/or sweaty. You will be challenged to work outside of your comfort zone.
