2016 interns: Jozie “Tractor” & Kyle “Diesel” Weiler.
2015 Interns: Jonathan “Pippin” Tullsen, Claire “Dee Dee” Farmen and Micheal “Thing” Sorenson.
Thank you for your interest in applying for Camas Meadows’ Summer Intern program. We are a Bible based, non-denominational, retreat center and summer camp. Our main goal is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and create the best environment for doing that. Summer is an exciting and challenging time at Camas and we are excited that you are interested in being a part of it!
If you are 18 years old and have graduated from high school by June 2017 you are eligible to apply for this internship.
We offer two types of internships. One is a Support Intern and the other a Counseling Intern. For each poition you will fill out the Camas Intern Application 2017. Though they are are different roles often times they will overlap and intersect depending on the needs of each week.
The Support Intern will be leading our support staff all summer. Support Staff are the volunteers who come up to camp to wash dishes, run paintball, do a variety of maintenance, and help in the kitchen. As the Support Intern you will be leading these young people in group discussions after chapel, as well as organizing their work schedule and participating in supporting the camp with them.
The Counseling Intern will be the counselor to the counselors so to speak. They will have weekly one-on-ones with each volunteer counselor of their gender, help facilitate games, and may be asked to step in as a volunteer counselor depending on the needs of the week.
As a Summer Intern you will be the glue that holds Camas together. We are looking for creative, humble, and hardworking individuals to come be apart of this amazing multi-faceted ministry. You will be participating in five traditional overnight week long camp sessions, one and a half weeks of staff training, and one week of rental groups that Camas hosts. This adds up to a total of 7 and a half weeks of summertime madness. You may chose to take one week of the summer off, provided that it is not during a Camas run camp week or staff training week.
We are looking for individuals who are willing to invest their summer and make an impact on lives that need to experience the love of Jesus. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity for a summer of service at Camas Meadows. We look forward to receiving your application!
This application is a chance for us here at Camas Meadows to get to know you a bit before we meet you in person. We are expecting this application to be filled out honestly and completely. Since we will be using this as a way of getting to know you, the more you write the better!
Please fill out Camas Intern Application 2017. Applications are due by April 1st, 2017. No late applications will be accepted. You will be contacted for an interview as soon as your application has been received and reviewed, and no later than April 15th. After your interview, you will be contacted by May 10th as to let you know if you have received the position for the summer.
If you are hired, you will be required to fill out a Medical and Liability form. If you would like to preview this form it can be found at the bottom of this page. Once your application has been received, your references will be contacted by Camas Meadows. We do this for confidentiality reasons. Please provide accurate and current contact information for each reference.
Camp is not a lucrative business. Though we cannot guarantee it, we are praying to be able to pay each hired intern will be payed $1,500 for their summer of service. We also will help any of our hired staff who desire to raise additional funding, raise support in order to bring your summer stipend up to $2500, or approximately $1000 on top of your pay from Camas.
There are many options to help you raise this money such as helping you write support letters and having a representative from Camas come visit and speak at your church, you just have to be willing to reach out to your church, family and friends, and see how God provides! This is in no way a requirement in order to accept the job. If you want to accept the agreed upon payment amount and have that be your summer pay, then that is totally fine with us. But we also recognize that God is our provider, and many of you have friends and family who would love to support you in this ministry if they were simply asked. As scripture clearly states, “we do not have because we do not ask”.
As Summer Staff you will be committing to spending at least eight and a half weeks of the summer at Camas Meadows Bible Camp. This would be from June 17th to August 13th. The dates for 2016 Camas summer camps are:
