WELCOME

Thank you for your interest in applying for Camas Meadows’ Summer Intern program. We are a Bible based, non-denominational, retreat center and summer camp. Our main goal is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and create the best environment for doing that. Summer is an exciting and challenging time at Camas and we are excited that you are interested in being a part of it!

If you are 18 years old and have graduated from high school by June 2018 you are eligible to apply for this internship.

We offer two types of internships. One is a Support Intern and the other a Counseling Intern. For each poition you will fill out the Camas Intern Application 2018. Though they are are different roles often times they will overlap and intersect depending on the needs of each week.

The Support Intern will be leading our support staff all summer. Support Staff are the volunteers who come up to camp to wash dishes, run paintball, do a variety of maintenance, and help in the kitchen. As the Support Intern you will be leading these young people in group discussions after chapel, as well as organizing their work schedule and participating in supporting the camp with them.

The Counseling Intern will be the counselor to the counselors so to speak. They will have weekly one-on-ones with each volunteer counselor of their gender, help facilitate games, and may be asked to step in as a volunteer counselor depending on the needs of the week.

As a Summer Intern you will be the glue that holds Camas together. We are looking for creative, humble, and hardworking individuals to come be apart of this amazing multi-faceted ministry. You will be participating in five traditional overnight week long camp sessions, one and a half weeks of staff training, and one week of rental groups that Camas hosts. This adds up to a total of 7 and a half weeks of summertime madness. You may chose to take one week of the summer off, provided that it is not during a Camas run camp week or staff training week.

We are looking for individuals who are willing to invest their summer and make an impact on lives that need to experience the love of Jesus. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity for a summer of service at Camas Meadows. We look forward to receiving your application!

Financial Support

An internship at Camas Meadows is essentially an unpaid volunteer position. As a non-profit organization committed to providing scholarship help to any who need it, our ability to provide financial compensation is limited. That said, we do provide a stipend for our interns during their time of service so they can focus on learning and growing through their experience. We hope to provide at least $1500 of support, with a goal of $3000, depending on how much funding is raised. We do expect our interns to participation in this fundraising process with the support and assistance of CMBC. There are many options to help you raise this money such as helping you write support letters and having a representative from Camas come visit and speak at your church, you just have to be willing to reach out to your church, family and friends, and see how God provides!
